EUMIND is a platform for networking between
schools in India and Europe to promote interaction and
understanding between students and teachers.
D Y Patil International School is proud to be selected as a
member school of the EUMIND network. As part of this
association, our senior school students shall be working on two
projects of glocal (think global act local) significance in this
academic year (2009-10).
(a) Recycling - Students (of Grade 8) brainstorm about subtopics
concerned. The main aim is that the project is about concrete
activities students themselves will carry out. Students write
about activities they are planning to implement any recycling
measures at home/at school. They then carry out the project and
reflect on how things have changed as a result of their
endeavour.
Then through video conferencing students share their views with
their counterparts from other Indian and Dutch Schools on this
topic.
As EUMIND, is a collaboration between schools in India and
Europe for this project we shall be jointly working with
Vechtdal College (Netherlands )
(b) Region- Students (of Grade 9 – IGCSE) as part of the Region
project brainstorm and discuss the burning issues in their
region For example: Pollution (air, water, soil etc) -
Unemployment - Drugs - Lack of facilities - Transport - Diseases
- Vandalism - Safety etc They then make photographs (upto 5) of
the burning issues (things to be changed) and the things they
are proud of in their region (buildings, routes, parks etc..)
Then through video conferencing students share their views with
their counterparts from other Indian and Dutch Schools on this
topic.
For this project, we shall be jointly working with Vechtdal
College (Netherlands )
